Is there competition parity?

Are Canadian Masterchefs more equal? Top Chef is more equal than any other competition show. Many people who fail to win in difficult challenges end up winning. This is due in large part to the fact that winning a cooking contest takes effort and perseverance. This competition requires determination and a lot of learning. You must remain positive, regardless of whether you win or not.

Mary Berg's chances for the final

Mary Berg won the title of Canadian Masterchef after beating Winnipeg's Jeremy Senaris in a three-course contest. She won the $100,000 grand prix. Before entering the competition, Mary Berg had been making friends and family rave about her cooking for years. She wasn't sure if she was being kind to them. She applied for MasterChef Canada. Soon after, she quit her job to devote her full time to the culinary competition.

Chances for Veronica Cham to win the finale

Veronica Cham was eliminated after she prepared Asian braised brisket. The seasoned chef was concerned for the cook's skill and tried the dish out while tasting its flavors. Unfortunately for Veronica, it was not enough to impress the judges. They sent the talented cook home. Veronica Cham had slim chances of making it to the Canadian Masterchef finale. She will have to confront Shawn and Matthew in the finale.

How to make a perfect omelet

Omelets are a favorite breakfast food of mine. But how do they turn out so perfectly? I've tried many recipes and different methods but none have worked. I have some tips and tricks to help you make delicious, fluffy omelets every single morning.

Before we start making omelets, let's remember that eggs are temperamental. It is important that eggs are fresh from an organic market and kept cool until used. They must be kept cool, otherwise the whites will not form properly and the yolks may become runny. This causes your omelets to look oddly colored. If you intend to cook your eggs immediately, it's best to use room-temperature egg.

Another tip is to separate your egg before adding it into the pan. It is important not to allow any white to mix with the yolk as this could lead to the omelet becoming curdled.

The egg can burn if it is placed directly on the stovetop. Instead, heat the egg in a microwave for 10 seconds and then place it in a pan. The microwave heat cooks the eggs just right without overcooking them.

Next, let’s talk about mixing the egg. Mix eggs well together. You need to turn the bowl of the mixer upside down. Then shake the bowl vigorously. The egg will be thoroughly mixed in the bowl as the air is whipped.

The fun part begins - you need to pour the milk into your mixture. The first step is to pour half of the milk in the beaten eggs. Next, fold the eggs into the remaining milk. Don't worry if there are still streaks of egg visible; these streaks will disappear once you flip the omelet.

After you have done folding the eggs, heat the pan on medium heat. The oil will start to smoke. Once the oil starts getting hot, add 1/4 cup of butter to the pan and swirl it around to coat the entire surface of the pan. Now carefully crack open the lid of the pan and sprinkle salt into the pan. Salt will prevent the omelet sticking to the pan.

Once the omelet has formed completely, cover the pan and let it set for a few minutes. Use a spatula to flip the omelet or turn the pan upside-down. Cook the second side for a minute or so. Serve immediately after removing the omelet from its pan.

This recipe works best using whole milk. Skimmed milk is also possible.
